PARENT FORUM POSTPONED UNTIL THE SECOND TERM
After already having one well supported evening meeting this week and a poor response to the request for points of discussion, we feel it prudent to reschedule the meeting until early next term when parents have time to get into the new school year and have time to apply their minds to issues of concern or new ideas.
SCHOOL NAVY BROAD-BRIMMED HATS
The navy broad-brimmed hats are now available at Fiddlesticks, our uniform stockiest in Hout Bay, and are selling for R140 each. All pupils must wear these or the navy school peak caps each day to school, during break times and at sport.

SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY BY – ELECTION RESULTS
Yesterday, Llandudno Primary held a SGB by – election for the positions of the Llandudno staff and parents who have left our school. Congratulations to all the new members. The new educator member is Mrs Sue Beukes (Grade 3 educator), new non educator is Mrs Heather Pearson, (bursar and administrator) and parent is Mrs Sandy Mattison.
Llandudno Primary is a government school within the Western Cape Education Department employing many private staff and educator posts funded out of school fees. We are completely aligned to all government school ruling, admission requirements, length of school day, school curriculum and the school calendar. Every government school has a School Board of Governors known as the School Governing Body (SGB). This team is responsible for the governance of the school, setting policies within WCED ruling, and maintaining its school structures and assets.

Last Tuesday, our grades 5-7 voted for their house captains of 2017.The following young people were voted in as the new dynamic leaders of their respective houses:

Blue House: Maisy Weston and Christopher Siebert (captains)
Kristin Allan and Yamkela Mathiso (vice captains)
The new grade 7 mayors and counsellors of the school will be elected this week by their phase peers and teachers. These pupils are the student leaders who support the academic and admin staff in many areas of responsibility such as sorting and collecting lost property, First Aid, tuck shop sales, looking after younger children, handing out letters and sorting sports equipment, organizing small functions etc.
Anyone who still would like to sign their children in Grades 2 – 4 up for Xhosa classes before school on Wednesdays, starting on Wednesday 8 February, must please contact reception for further details.
GRADE 7 HOT DOG FRIDAY FUND
Hot dogs are available for your children in all grades on a pre-order system to support the Grade 7 fund which purchases the school a large present at the end of the year. In 2015, the fund purchased most of our new hall sound system and in 2016, it purchased 10 educational tablets for class use. We start hot dogs this Friday 27 January. A letter went home with your child and it is available on the d6 Communicator. Please support this drive.
