Dear Parents,

A few tickets are still available for our parent cocktail evening coming up this Thursday, 23 February. Don’t miss out on this fabulous parent social, as you get to meet and greet other families (both old and new) and make new friends. Tickets cost R85 per person and there will be a cash bar available. Snacks will be served.

Time: 6.00pm-9.00pm

Venue: Llandudno Surf Lifesaving Club on Llandudno Beach

Please send in your RSVP to the school office.

Each child has received an important Beach Carnival raffle sheet to complete. This weekend is an ideal time for pupils and parents to sell the R20 tickets to friends and family. All fully-completed sheets will receive a R10 reward from Mrs Erasmus and receive two free tickets at the bottom of the sheet. We have amazing prizes up for grabs, such as a wonderful helicopter trip for 4 people. Please keep this sheet somewhere safe as there is a R100 fine for any lost forms.

Please do not forget to swipe your Woolworths MySchool card and MySuperSpar card when out shopping. You can use the MySchool card at any Woolworths store, as well as at Flight Centre,, Engen and Waltons. When swiping your MySuperSpar card at Spar, you can also use it at the Spar Tops bottle store as well. Please make sure to link your Woolworths card to our school and change over from any previous school. If you are in need of any of these cards, please contact the school office on 021 790 2010. Please support us by swiping them as often as possible as these proceeds go into helping fund future building projects as they raise the same amount of money as our school fundraising events.

Please contact the office on 021 790 2010 if you are not receiving the school emails and SMS’s. We can then check your details on our database or assist you with technical support, such as helping you assist your mailing host provider to ‘whitelist’ the email address from the school. Sometimes these emails get stopped by the service provider and seen as spam. We keep delivery reports for each email and SMS and can always check for you. Please regularly check your Spam folder to see if communication is not going into this folder. If your physical address or phone number changes, or even your work email, please let us know so we can keep your details current. If you have not yet downloaded the D6 Communicator to your phone and computer, please do so. We try to add all the info emailed to parents onto the communicator as an extra measure.

Thank you to our parents for your wonderful and overwhelming support of food donations to DARG. We have managed to raise some money through the Red and White Civvies Day which we were able to donate to them as well. Mr Clulow and a group of Grade 7 pupils delivered all the food and other items collected to them on Wednesday. Please help support DARG where possible as they are always in need of support from the local community.

Please note we will be doing another lice check on Monday morning as we try to achieve and maintain our pupils hair being 100% lice-free. Please make sure to have a look through your child/children’s hair over the weekend and do a follow-up treatment if needed.
